Vinous Eric Guido - 01 May 20
The 2017 Fiano di Avellino is understated and pretty. Honied florals give way to ripe yellow apple, lime zest and smoky minerals. Flavors of ripe peach and soft, enveloping textures offset vibrant acids, showing an almost-salty persistence as tension builds toward the close. You can feel the ripeness of the warm vintage, yet there’s plenty of energy here, making for a highly enjoyable glass of Fiano.
